Our Purpose

Our inspiration begins with our clients, as we aim to capture their essences and transform their visions into settings that are beautiful, refined, and deeply personal. We believe that simplicity and elegance go hand in hand, so our eventscapes are always polished and our details are thoroughly considered – whether the gathering is contemporary, organic, whimsical, or somewhere in between. We are driven to crafting events that are fresh and incredibly stylish, with atmospheres that are perfectly warm and inviting.

Our Approach

We prioritize the organization of our events, and speak with tact, candor, and sensitivity when it comes to the critical elements of budgeting and scheduling. Our goal is to respect the boundaries of cost, without sacrificing a client’s wish list. Ultimately, we streamline the coordination and build trust, so that our clients can feel completely at ease during each stage of the planning process and wholeheartedly excited on their special day.

KATE FUJIMOTO

Owner + Principal

Since 2007, Kate has been delivering valued event expertise through her eponymous event company, Kate Fujimoto Event Design. Although originally focused on chic, intimate gatherings with fewer than 75 guests, Kate quickly expanded her offerings to encompass beautifully designed, larger-scale weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, galas, and other distinctive social occasions.

Kate’s aesthetic, which is a sophisticated fusion of classic and contemporary elements, has been shaped by her unique story. A native Angeleno with English and Japanese roots, Kate spent many years on the East Coast, studying at Brown University in Rhode Island and Parsons School of Design in New York. She subsequently worked in the esteemed fashion studios of Marc by Marc Jacobs and Betsey Johnson in New York City before returning to Los Angeles to launch her event business.

Caldwell, a nod to Kate’s grandmother who was the epitome of English grace and propriety, grew out of Kate’s desire to produce only the most exquisite, seamlessly crafted, and genuinely inspired events that will ultimately become part of a client’s own treasured history.

MATTHEW MCCALLUM

Associate Producer + Production Manager

With 15 years of event experience, Matthew contributes an unparalleled reserve of production and logistics savvy to Caldwell. Beginning his career as a catering and facilities manager for various upscale venues in Los Angeles, Matthew segued into the role of freelance producer for many notable corporate events. Matthew's ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with venues and vendors and to also translate the details of event production to clients prove invaluable during the planning process.

Born and raised in Nebraska, Matthew infuses a Midwestern congeniality and calm into Caldwell’s event operations. Wearing his signature hat, Matthew is an identifiable presence at Caldwell events – setting the bar for both substance and style.
